Trainer Profile

Sue Leffler

Sue Leffler has always been fascinated by the big impact that a rider’s posture has on the horse. She started her educated with numerous courses in centred riding, before being personally trained by the legendary Sally Swift in 1990, and went on to achieve the Centred Riding Senior Level 4 status. Sue is also authorized to teach centered riding clinics and instructor courses.

In 2003, Sue first met Jill Eckerts Meyners, a professor of Kinesiology at the University of Lüneburg. Meyners had observed that only the movements of the horse were focussed on in riding lessons, but nothing regarding the rider. With this in mind, she worked intensively on equine motion theory and developed the concept of Balimo™.  This seated teaching method has been adopted by many riders with back problems. In 2005, Sue successfully completed the Balimo™ Equestrian Instructor Program and is authorized to teach Balimo™ Seat Clinics.
